How Outer Wilds aliens have so much humanity.

It's crazy to think how a game about aliens can feel so human, isn't it? From the small details in its environments to a couple dialogue bits that makes you think over and over.
Take this (non-spoiler) quote for example:

"The future depends on the past, even if we don't get to see it."
— Riebeck, Outer Wilds Archeologist

The passage of time and how aware we are of it is one of the aspects that's mostly explored in the game, even as a gameplay mechanic itself. What makes us more human than acknowledging how much time we have left, and how we should spend it?

The past is the choices we choose to make, and the future is the consequence of our actions. The game's story wouldn't have happened if a different past took place, and so their future is what it is due to the actions of the ones that lived in that time. It's a chain of events with innumerable possibilities. And you won't get to see what's next until you do something about it.

"The universe is, and we are."
— Solanum, Outer Wilds Nomai
